*** This entry stems from a link that was placed into a story of mine on another website. A long version to an otherwise summarized dream. ***

This dream is a lot more vivid than the last two. The moment you become aware that you're dreaming, you realize that you're falling through darkened clouds into a fiery sky quickly filling up with smoke. But that is the least of the things you are seeing that you worry about. You are quickly flipped out of control by the fast pressing wind of a giant, scaly creature flying past right under you. Its piercing roar rumbles your insides as you quickly attempt to stabilize yourself in midair. When you do so, you get a clear glimpse of what it is. A dragon!

And not just one dragon, either. Now that you are clear from the darkened clouds, you gaze upon a blazing sky filled with flying dragons and avian machines with thundering engines. Countless projectiles are strewn about from the flying machines, targeting the many dragons flying about whom counter with incredibly accurate streams of fire that burst from their gaping mouths. Both the machine's projectiles and dragon's flaming spews contribute to the hellish look of the sky, what with all the smoke and embers flying upward.

You hear nothing but the sounds of roaring and explosions coming from every angle.

This is a war, you think to yourself. A god damn war in the sky between dragon and machine.

Yet here you are, lost in the middle of it! Like an insect in the center of a battlefield.

You fall, endlessly. Another spewing flame from a dragon towards a machine zipping past nearly chars you. What does hit you, however, is the immense heat followed by another wave of wind that sends you into another out of control spiral. Before you can re-stabilize yourself, you suddenly land on a hard surface. You don't sustain any damage, sans from a small jolt of pain following the impact.

When you push yourself up to your feet, you see that you have landed on some kind of airship. It begins to fly through the middle of it all, to your dismay. But you realize after watching these large dragons that they're actually protecting the airship you had just landed on, even throwing themselves in the way of projectiles as it zones in on another, much larger airship being guarded by the avian machines.

Your feel your heart leap as somebody walks through your body from behind, watching them go over to the railing without even noticing you were there. You can't see them from the front, but by looking at the person from behind, you can see that it is a young man with brown, somewhat lengthy hair dressed in strange reinforced leather armor. He watches the bigger ship closely, calmly, completely hard to read even with all the mayhem ensuing. A young red haired woman about the same age as the man walks up beside him, tapping on the shoulder and pointing directly at the bigger ship.

From the side of her face, you can see she appears quite concerned... but he simply nods. They don't say anything, most likely because they wouldn't be able to hear each other with all the noise coming from every direction. Looking over the railing yourself, you can see that the deck of the other large airship has people on it as well. They appear to be manning something- a large weapon it seems.

Jumping up on the airship's railing and able to keep steady balance, the young man turns to the girl to say something. From the side of his face, you can see he is wearing a black eye patch. "I'm going," is what you're sure he says as the ship flies right over the other. Pulling out a twin-bladed sword from its sheathe on his lower back, you watch in awe as he simply dives off the side of the aircraft and plummets below.

As you run over to the railing and look over the edge, you see him turn the hilt of the sword's blade which causes it to split in two- each bearing the respective blade from its single twin-bladed look. His blades begin to surge with a strange energy. Utilizing unusual grace, the young man begins to spin downward, ricocheting any artillery aimed specifically at him as he continues to dive towards the larger ship's deck.

He successfully lands on it, creating quite the impact as the energy of his blades makes contact with the surface of the ship. Without much effort, he takes out any and all resistance that attempts to assault him, though doesn't kill them. All but one. The man before him, who appeared to have been leading the manning of the strange weapon. The two look on at each other fiercely, eyes reflecting the fiery skies.

The other man holds his arms out and gets in a readied stance. Confused as to what's going on, you continue to watch in shock as a strange sort of gray, moldy matter begins to deform the man's arms. But as you spectate longer, you realize that its not so much deforming his arms as it is morphing them into something. Eventually, they take the shape of two large, oddly shaped blades, both with fatal looking edges once solidified. The one on his right arm takes on a rather glaive-like blade, while the one in his left takes the shape of a long curved blade, like those seen in some kind of pendulum trap.

The two go at it like arch-enemies, appearing to be more than a match for one another. Sparks fly endlessly, nearly making it impossible for you to see past them at the two fighting. However, just as the young man finds a sudden opening against his enemy, one of the avian machines flying above swoops down towards the ship fast, causing the two enemies to jump back in opposite directions just as the machine crashes and creates a mild explosion in between them.

Taking this precious time to act, the man with morphed arms quickly makes his way towards the large weapon from before and continues to tinker with it, returning one hand to normal in order to do so. The young man with the eye patch climbs over the wrecked machine that had just crashed and reaches into a pouch behind him, pulling out a small projectile which he quickly hurls at the other man's hand. It strikes right through his hand, causing it to become stuck against panel of the weapon. His face contorts with pain, but without much hesitation, he quickly reaches forward with the morphed arm and manages to complete his task.

This is where he smirks and turns to the young, bewildered man defiantly, waddling his glaived arm as if to say, "I don't think so."

The young woman's eyes widen upon seeing the large cannon-like weapon activate. You watch her mouth the words, "Oh no..."

The cannon shoots a large bright beam into the horizon, ruthlessly eradicating any and all dragon or avian machine that happened to be in its wake. This beam impossibly tears what appears to be a rift into existence, one that opens wider as the beam continues to shoot. A large explosion causes you to look back at the large ship from before, coming from there. The young man now had his sword through the panel of the cannon, with remnants of energy spreading out and dispersing.

He glares at the other man, who simply smirks in return, despite the halting of the large cannon. He motions towards the "rift" in the sky.

Everyone turns their attention towards it. Sentient lights that appear small as they pour out of the rift but become progressively bigger once out, zip overhead and down towards the land below. You can almost swear that you see things within those lights. Living things. And one thing you're certain that you're seeing, is the glowing twilight eye from before. It watches you from within the rift, from whatever that "other" side of existence is that those sentient lights came from.

As the twilight eye closes, so to does the world around you. A brief moment of darkness, a loud ringing, and then your sudden awakening.
